A preservation is created by using dried flowers and resin. Resin is a 2 part liquid, when combined, hard cures into a solid.

Yes! Certain pieces require pressing the flowers before drying them. The deadline to add additional pieces to your order is by the time we receive your flowers.
*Additional pieces must be paid in full.
Absolutely! Regardless of the current state of your flowers, they will be dried out prior to putting them in the resin.
The first step to creating your piece is to dry out the flowers. The purpose of drying the flowers is to prohibit rotting once they are cast in the resin. This is done by removing the flowers from their stems, placing them in an air tight container and encapsulating them in silica sand. This can take up to 30 days for the flowers to be dried fully.
Once the flowers are dried, the magic begins. A base layer of resin is poured and your preservation is built layer by layer. With each layer, more flowers are added in to build your preservation. After multiple layers are poured and dried, the block is removed from the mold. The piece is then sanded and top coated. Additional top coats are required to perfect your
piece.
*Once the flowers are in the resin, they cannot be moved.
I like to keep my customers VERY informed. Once the flowers are dried, you will be contacted with a suggested layout of your flowers within the mold. Together, we will create the preservation of your dreams.
**Ring Stands, Candle Holders, and Wine stopper will be completed based upon artist interpretation as these molds are opaque and do not allow me to show you what it looks like before the resin pour.
*Due to the fragile nature of dried flowers, we will want to minimize handling of them as much as possible.
Yes! For an additional cost, writing can be embedded into your piece. If you change your mind and would like to add personalization to your piece, we can create an additional custom link for the additional personalization charge.
**Restrictions apply to certain pieces.
Making your preservation is a process. From the moment your flowers are received, work is constantly being done to preserve them. Resin is a medium that is not inexpensive. There are other resin artists out there, however I use the highest quality resin. The resin used is specifically designed to minimize bubbles and be crystal clear. While every effort is made to minimize bubbles, we cannot guarantee that your piece will be bubble free. Additionally, the resin has the highest UV resistance to reduce yellowing. AND, you paid a lot for your flowers. Why enjoy them for just one day when you can enjoy them for the rest of time.
Naturally, flowers will begin to lose color when they are cut and removed from water. Using the silica sand helps to maintain as much color as possible. That is why it is important to get your flowers to me as quickly as possible. Most flowers will dry to a darker color than they originally were. Whites will tend to dry to a yellow shade, purples to a dark purple, pinks to a purple/pink dark shade, etc. All resin will eventually yellow. You will want to keep your preservation away from direct sunlight and high UV lights as much as possible.
It is highly recommended that you send your entire bouquet and extra flowers from table settings, corsages and boutonnieres. This is recommended as some flowers may become damaged when your are shipping them to me. Additionally, this gives me the best chance to preserve the most pristine flowers from your special day.
THE SOONER, THE BETTER! As long as your flowers can get to me within 5 days of your wedding, most of them are typically in a good state of firmness. Many brides are on their honeymoon after their wedding, so they enlist the help of a family member or friend to ship the flowers for them. I am located in Plano, and you are welcome to schedule a meetup so that I can pick up your flowers, if you are local.
Each preservation is a work of art. Therefore, much care, love and time go in to creating the perfect preservation. At any given moment, I am creating over 50 preservations at a time. Some pieces take fewer layers of resin than others. Due to the volume of customers, your preservation is completed in the order that the flowers are received. As a general practice, I inform all customers that their preservation will be completed within 6-8 months of receiving their flowers. Please understand that this is an estimated time of completion. Completion times may be longer based upon customer volume.
Whether your flowers are silk or wood, they can be preserved.
Once you have completed your purchase order, information will be provided with packaging and shipping instructions with photos.
